This beautiful painting of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph is by the Spanish Baroque painter, Murillo, and it is now in the public domain. Our Holy Family Novena begins on the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, which is Sunday, December 30, 2018. It continues through Monday, January 7, 2019. God chose to belong to a human family. A family just like yours. A place where virtues can be learned; where respect, forgiveness, and love take root. This is the miracle of Christmas. Celebrate this Christmas Season by joining the Missionaries of the Holy Family in prayer to strengthen your family life. We will be celebrating Mass on each of the nine days.

If you have never participated in a Novena, I encourage you to discover the benefits of this powerful form of prayer.

Did You Know?

Did you know that Novena Prayer (novena is Latin for nine) began with the Apostles after the Ascension of Our Lord? When Christ ascended from earth, the Apostles felt alone, uncertain, and afraid, so they gathered back in the Upper Room and prayed with the Blessed Virgin Mary. They prayed for nine days. On the ninth day, the Holy Spirit came down and anointed each Apostle, and this enabled them to proclaim the Good News – we know this as Pentecost. It is from the example of the Apostles and Our Lady that we have Novena Prayer.

God bless your family! +JMJ+
